Waxing Aftercare

Proper aftercare keeps your skin smooth, healthy, and irritation-free between appointments.

The First 24–48 Hours

Your skin is most sensitive right after waxing. Follow these steps to prevent irritation.

  • Keep the area clean

Gently cleanse waxed areas with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free cleanser.

  • Avoid heat and friction

Skip hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, and tight clothing for at least 24 hours.

  • No touching or scratching

Resist the urge to touch freshly waxed skin — your hands carry bacteria that can cause breakouts.

  • Skip the gym

Sweat and friction from exercise can irritate freshly waxed skin. Wait at least 24 hours before working out.

  • Stay out of the sun

Freshly waxed skin is more prone to sunburn. Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for 48 hours.

Ongoing Care

Keep your skin in top shape between appointments with these daily habits.

  • Moisturize daily

Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer or aloe vera to keep skin hydrated and soft.

  • Exfoliate regularly

Starting 3–4 days after your wax, gently exfoliate 2–3 times per week to prevent ingrown hairs.

  • Wear loose clothing

Opt for breathable, loose-fitting fabrics over waxed areas to reduce friction and irritation.

What to Avoid

These can cause irritation, breakouts, or uneven results.

  • No shaving between appointments

Shaving disrupts the hair growth cycle and leads to stubble. Let the hair grow naturally for your next wax.

  • Avoid harsh products

Stay away from products with alcohol, retinol, AHAs, or strong fragrances on waxed areas for at least 48 hours.

  • Skip self-tanner

Self-tanning products can clog pores and cause uneven color on freshly waxed skin. Wait at least 48 hours.

  • No swimming

Pools, hot tubs, and ocean water contain bacteria and chemicals that can irritate open pores. Wait 24–48 hours.

When to Come Back

For the best results, we recommend rebooking every 4–6 weeks. Consistent waxing leads to finer, sparser hair growth over time — meaning less discomfort and smoother results with each visit.

Tip: Book your next appointment before you leave so you always have a spot reserved. Hair should be about ¼ inch (the length of a grain of rice) for the best wax.
